Prime Is Developing New 9MW Data Center In Silicon Valley

News February 3rd 2022

Prime Data Centers has announced that soon it is going to develop a new 9MW Data Center. This development is known as a new state of art, carrier-neutral data center facility, which will be located at 1231 Comstock Street in Santa Clara, California. Prime is going to start the construction of the data center facility in the second half of 2023.

Importance of the region

CEO of Prime Data Center, Nicholas Laag, said that this region is very important as they are seeing a vast demand from the world’s most influential companies.

The property is supposed to deliver up to 9MW of critical power which will be immediately available after construction. This property provides the benefit of up to 40% lower utility rates as compared to other Bay Area providers. This is due to its strategic location outside of the San Francisco metro area.

The firm further said that this geographically concentrated activity shows Prime’s optimism about the future, that Silicon Valley will be a wholesale market of Data Centers. Prime is also planning further Silicon Valley projects that are expected to come in near future.

To further emphasize the location, last year the privately held telecom Infraco Mobilities also said that it would connect the San Francisco Bay Area with a new fiber deployment. On the other hand, HGS has started working with AMS-IX to integrate HGC’s global digital infrastructure at Chicago and Bay Area exchanges.

Benefits to Prime

Prime made the statement that its carrier-neutral facility is going to stand at the center of major fiber routes, which will be followed by diverse paths of the top Tier 1 long haul and metro providers. In addition, Prime has also secured access to new dark fiber routes that interconnects all major facilities in Silicon Valley.

More benefits of the development include private and shared office space, secure staging, storage that’s adjacent to a loading dock, and ample on-site parking.
