Inspur and JD Cloud Partner Collaborate To Launch ORS3000S Liquid-Cooled Server

Business News News April 2nd 2022

The systematic cold-plate cooling green solution minimizes energy consumption in data centers and comes as an innovative world-class production facility ready for mass deployment.

Inspur, a leading cloud computing, and big data service provider in collaboration with  JD Cloud, a digital solution provider launched the liquid-cooled rack server ORS3000S at the Inspur Partner Forum (IPF 22) 2022. The new state-of-the-art server uses cold-plate liquid cooling technology to hike heat dissipation efficiency by 40 percent. It operates on a centralized power supply with N+N redundancy that fulfills the demands of a full rack power supply and can offer maximum efficiency with power optimization. In comparison to a dedicated power supply, leading to a 10 percent rise in overall efficiency.

The ORS3000S servers have been widely installed in the data centers of JD Cloud, providing them with processing capacity during major shopping events. It aims to increase performance by “34 to 56 percent” along with lowering carbon emissions, power use effectiveness, and energy use.

Inspur Has A Manufacturing Capacity of 100,000 servers

Inspur has been a predecessor in the field of direct and indirect cooling. Hence, it aims to enhance the 30 to 50 percent energy efficiency of the cooling system using new heat conduction technologies, such as micro-channel cooling, immersion cooling, and phase-change temperature uniformity. Further, all this is accompanied by the development in cooling throughout the server architecture, including phase-change, consistent temperature design for high-power components like the CPU and GPU, and micro/nano-cavity.

The company also claims that the new server would improve the heat dissipation performance by 150 percent in comparison to standard air-cooling solutions. Inspur has built one of the largest liquid-cooled data center manufacturing in the world. Also, it has an annual manufacturing potential of 100, 000 servers using its experience in the industrial use of liquid cooling.
